Pre Departure
I picked out my classes! There were so many options and so many courses that I wanted to take! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take all of the ones I wanted due to scheduling, but here’s my final schedule:

(3 credits)
Course 2: Epidemiology – Danish Case Studies

Course 3: History of Copenhagen: Structure, Plan, Design A

Course 4: Human Health and Disease A

Comments: Your preferred core course includes a (mandatory) long study tour to Stockholm-Tallinn during travel break 1 and is taught at Rigshospital.
Course 5: Public Health Implications of Modern Lifestyles

(3 credits)
Course 2: Epidemiology – Danish Case Studies

Course 3: History of Copenhagen: Structure, Plan, Design A

Course 4: Human Health and Disease A

I have also been to some study abroad meetings and got to meet other students from Cornell who are also in DIS. There are 22 of us participating in a bunch of different core courses.
I finally bought my plane tickets! I’ll be leaving Newark 12/1/12 with a layover in Heathrow. I’ll get to CPH the next day. I thought that after buying my plane tickets I would feel more like I am ACTUALLY going. But it hasn’t really still hit me yet that I’ll be spending an entire semester in a country I know relatively little about. It probably won’t hit me till leave Cornell’s campus and start packing.
Maybe you noticed my departure date is a little early/would have already happend- but actually I’m just trying to get used to European ways of doing things like writing the date as day/month/year. I’ve also changed my iPhone time to 24hr and the weather to Celsius and km/hr.
DIS sent me the pre-departure package in the mail. It’s got a fancy metal luggage tag for us to recognize other DIS students with, a map of Copenhagen, and a neat little handbook. I really want to read it and get into learning about what to expect, but it’s also study week here at Cornell. I have been trying not to think too much about studying abroad because I am super excited and I know it will distract me! In fact I’m writing this blog post instead of writing a final essay… heh.
